Farmingdale Rams Elite Eight Basketball Team Honored

Farmingdale Rams Elite Receive Proclamation from Senator Charles Fuschillo Jr.
The Farmingdale State College men's basketball team which enjoyed the most successful season in the school's history, was honored by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. on Friday, March 27. Senator Fuschillo presented Farmingdale State President W. Hubert Keen, athletic director Mike Harrington, and the players and coaches with a proclamation praising the team for its record-setting season.
The Rams won a school-record 20 straight games during the season and advanced to the Elite Eight—the quarterfinal round—of the NCAA Division III national tournament, one of the deepest advances in the tournament ever by any college team on Long Island. Farmingdale completed the season with a 27-4 record.
Farmingdale's Damien Santana was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season and coach Erik Smiles was named Skyline Conference Coach of the Year.
