Kristen Malsheimer Joins Farmingdale State
Medical Laboratory Technology Department Welcomes New Instructional Support Technician
Kristen Malsheimer has received an appointment as an Instructional Support Technician in Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at Farmingdale State College.
For the past decade, Malsheimer has held the position of Microbiology Technician and Technologist at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. His responsibilities included management of the hospital's bacterial identification and testing procedures, performance of state-mandated proficiency testing and instruction relating to infectious diseases. Prior to that appointment, he was served as a Chemistry Technician at the hospital. While a student a Farmingdale State College during the late 1990s, Malsheimer was part of the college's Work Study Program, in which he specialized in the sterilization of instrumentation and management of laboratory technologies.
A resident of Lindenhurst, Malsheimer holds an Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Farmingdale State College. He is licensed by the American Society for Clinical Pathology-Medical Laboratory Technology and is a New York State certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
