Professor Christine Glaser Joins Farmingdale State
Nursing Department Welcomes New Assistant Professor
Christine Glaser has received an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Farmingdale State College. Glaser is a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York and has Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. In the fall semester, she taught Health Assessment and Concepts & Practice of Nursing.
For the past decade, Professor Glaser was Coordinator of Training and Education at North Shore University Hospital, where she was in charge of education activities at the Syosset campus. She oversaw the division's Health Care Training Facilities for all BCLS and ACLS courses. From 1982 to 1999, she held a number of other positions at North Shore University Hospital, including Special Project Coordinator, Critical Care Educator, Medical-Surgical Instructor, and Assistant Head Nurse in the Neurology Medical Unit. Her professional experience also includes the Visiting Nurse Service of Suffolk County. Her teaching experience includes five years as an adjunct assistant professor at Farmingdale State College.
Glaser received a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University in 1998, with a specialization in Adult Health Nursing. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Professor Glaser is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the Nassau Country Chapter of the American Heart Association, and the Oncology Nursing Society.
