Business Management Student Selected To Participate In State Legislative Session Assistant Program
Afshan Khan Spends Spring Semester as Assembly Intern in Albany
Afshan Khan Afshan K. Khan, a Business Management student from Hicksville , has been selected to receive a New York State Legislative Session Assistant Award. While enrolled in fifteen credits of directed independent study for the spring 2009 semester, Khan will be in residence in Albany and will work for Assembly member Sandra Galef's office .
The Farmingdale College Foundation provided a scholarship to pay the full tuition in recognition of Khan's achievement.
Khan is a member of two professional societies, the Association for Operations Management (APICS), and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). In addition, she is a member of the Farmingdale State 's Desi Club and a volunteer in the Career Development Center
Khan is one of two students selected this year to represent Farmingdale State College in this prestigious program. This is the third year a Farmingdale State student has represented the College.
The program is coordinated by Dr. Richard Vogel, chair of the Department of History, Economics & Politics.
