Professor Susan Baxter Joins Farmingdale State
Business Management Department Welcomes New Assistant Professor
Susan C. Baxter has received an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Management at Farmingdale State College. Baxter's research interests are in the areas of diversity in marketing, the impact of HIV/AIDS on businesses, and marketing in the healthcare field. Her courses this semester include Introduction to Business, Marketing Principles, Advertising Principles, and International Business.
Her recent research explores marketing strategies directed at negatively-perceived consumer groups, HIV/AIDS' impact on human resource management, and niche marketing to the GLBT community. Baxter's research has appeared in Journal of Business & Economic Research, the International Business and Economics Research Journal (IBER), and the Global Journal of Business Research (GJBR); she has presented her international conferences in Florida, Texas, and Nevada.
Baxter has extensive teaching experience in both the traditional classroom setting and as an online professor. She has taught Business Administration and Marketing courses at Bethune-Cookman University, South University, Baker College, DeVry University, and elsewhere. Her experience in the private sector includes management positions at Walt Disney World and Horizon Behavioral Services. She also worked in marketing and sales in the mortgage industry.
Baxter received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2003. She has a MS in Psychology from St. Cloud University, and a BA in Psychology from the College of St. Benedict. She holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in International Business from and is currently completing her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Argosy University.
