Business Management and Computer Systems students gathered with their families, friends and professors in Farmingdale State College's Little Theater for the Sigma Beta Delta Induction Ceremony on March 7, 2008. Sigma Beta Delta is an international honor society recognizing and promoting achievement in business, management and administration.

Master of Ceremonies Dr. Daniel Marrone, professor of business, oversaw the event at which eighty-six students were inducted. This increase from sixty-three students inducted last year reflects the dramatic enrollment increase in these programs. President Hubert Keen welcomed students and their families and read Dr. Donald H. Driemeier's acknowledgement letter from the Officers and Board of Directors of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration. Student President Lauren M. Fink welcomed the new members.

Dr. Lucia Cepriano , vice president for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Society as the 2008 honorary member. The ceremony closed with the "Changing of the Guard" as Professor Dominick Siani assumed the presidency of the Sigma Beta Delta Chapter following the able leadership of Dr. Marrone.

Sigma Beta Delta is Farmingdale State College's first four-year honor society. The Farmingdale State College chapter received its charter in 1999. To be eligible, junior or senior students must earn a grade point average in the top 20 per cent in either the Management of Technology or in Computer Systems bachelor degrees.
