Farmingdale State College School of Business and the SBDC Host Fourth Annual Entrepreneurship Conference

A Conference focusing on business ownership and self-employment as a career choice

Farmingdale State College's School of Business will join the New York State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Farmingdale State to host the fourth annual Conference on Entrepreneurship - a full day conference focused on business ownership and self-employment opportunities on Saturday, April 5, 2008. This learning opportunity brings together small business owners, students and alumni from the various disciplines of Farmingdale State as well as the general public. This event is designed to assist participants in gaining an understanding of the variety of business ownership opportunities available to them and the knowledge required to pursue them intelligently.

Keynote speaker Andrew S. Hazen is Founder and CEO of Prime Visibility. Hazen, a serial entrepreneur, has been developing and branding successful businesses for more than a decade. He has extensive knowledge and experience in all e-marketing matters, search engine optimization, and Internet law. From domain name procurement to keyword selection and forming strategic partnerships, Hazen creates strategies and techniques to get websites noticed by targeted audiences and major Internet search engines. He has served as keynote speaker at Internet Marketing Seminars and has authored many published articles for varying trade magazines and marketing newsletters.

The day will include a welcome from Dr. W. Hubert Keen, president of Farmingdale State College, Lucille Wesnofske, director of the SBDC, and a representative of the School of Business . Participants can attend three of the more than three dozen breakout sessions on specialized topics. They also have the opportunity to see presentations on up and coming businesses, conceived by students and alumni, at the Business Expo.
