Dr. W. Hubert Keen, president of Farmingdale State College, is proud to announce that Professor Marjaneh Issapour, electrical engineering technology, has received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service by the SUNY Chancellor and Board of Trustees in 2007.

Professor Issapour's commitment to students, the college and the community is exemplified by her role as Director of the Institute for Networking Systems Technology and Education Programs (INSTEP), her contribution to the development and success of the college's Solar Energy Center (SEC) and her input in the planning and implementation of the new bachelor's degree in computer engineering technology. As part of her INSTEP responsibilities, she manages both a regional and a local CISCO Networking Academy. Professor Issapour is a resident of Woodbury.

A colleague said of Dr. Issapour, "INSTEP is a testimonial to her ability to reach out to others, .[to] offer unselfish support to her colleagues and provide the best educational opportunities to a diverse body of college level students. [she] has made it possible for hundreds of students to attain professional certification in computer networking and seek employment opportunities in New York and elsewhere."

Professor Issapour earned a BS in electrical engineering from Stony Brook University and an MS from Columbia University.

The Chancellor's Award is a prestigious award within the SUNY system and is awarded only to those candidates who have a record of consistently superior performance and a long commitment to the SUNY system. At Farmingdale State, fifty-four professors have received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
