Farmingdale State College Horticulture Student Awarded Scholarship

Farmingdale State College's ornamental horticulture students were honored on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Farmingdale Horticulture Committee's Annual Scholarship Reception for their hard work and excellence in the field of horticulture. Thirteen students received almost $19,000 worth of scholarship money in the names of influential organizations and leaders in the billion dollar 'green' industry.
Farmingdale State College President Dr. W. Hubert Keen is pleased to announce that Donald Houser , a Massapequa Park resident, is this year's recipient of the Home Depot Scholarship. Donald is a member of the Long Island Horticultural Society and the Farmingdale Horticulture Club. He will graduate with an AAS in Ornamental Horticulture this May. In addition, Mr. Houser previously earned a BS in Business Management from New York Institute of Technology.
The Farmingdale Horticulture Committee's mission is to benefit excellence in the Farmingdale State College horticulture curriculum, to provide scholarships for the best and brightest students, to advertise the program and to further the development of the Horticulture teaching gardens as the very finest in the Northeast, if not the country.
