Dr. Bin Zhou Joins Farmingdale State College Faculty
Dr. W. Hubert Keen , president of Farmingdale State College, welcomes Dr. Bin Zhou as an assistant professor in the Business department.
Dr. Zhou, a Central Islip resident, has six years experience teaching as an instructor and a teaching assistant and has taught at Rutgers Business School since 2001.
In addition, Dr. Zhou has industry and consulting experience. He worked as a consultant for Benjamin Moore & Co.'s supply chain optimization project, performing analysis on production and operations data, testing and implementing quantitative models, and providing training sessions for the staff.
Dr. Zhou's research is in inventory management with a focus on the design and control of stochastic inventory systems. In addition, his research includes pricing strategies, revenue management and supply chain coordination. He has over five papers in review for publication in journals and trade magazines including, Management Science, and International Journal of Production Economics.
Dr. Zhou just successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled, "Optimal Operations of Supply Chains under Side Constraints." He earned his PhD in March 2007 from Rutgers University where he also received his MBA. Dr. Zhou earned his BA in International Business from Foreign Affairs College in Beijing, China .
