Farmingdale State College Architectural Technology Student Awarded Scholarship
On March 21, 2007 the Farmingdale Foundation and Alumni Association Student Scholarship Reception was held in Roosevelt Hall's Multipurpose Room at Farmingdale State College. Over $84,000 worth of scholarship money was awarded to 57 students at the reception. Farmingdale State College President Dr. W. Hubert Keen is pleased to announce that Daniel Federico was this year's recipient of the Raymond Von Deesten Memorial Scholarship.
Staten Island resident Daniel Federico is a Construction Management Engineering Technology major. Mr. Federico's outstanding academic achievement in his first semester at Farmingdale State College earned him placement on the Dean's List. He is a graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island .
Nina Von Deesten is a long-time member of the Farmingdale State community. Her daughter, Jennifer Von Deesten, attended the reception to present the award. The scholarship was established in 2004 by the Von Deesten family in memory of Nina's husband, Raymond Von Deesten.
The Farmingdale College Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that provides financial assistance in advancing the purposes and development of the College. The Foundation provides scholarships, faculty development grants, and support of programs and projects that are not funded by the State budget. The Alumni Association is a not-for-profit corporation which provides a positive link between graduates and the College.
