DETAILS: Farmingdale State College celebrates GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY for the fourth consecutive year. Children between ages 1 and 17 can be brought to the Dental Hygiene Care Center for free oral screening exams, dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and patient education. This national event, sponsored by the American Dental Association and Henry Schein is designed to provide children with access to dental services. Approximately 150 people are expected to attend. Farmingdale’s dental hygiene program is part of the College’s Theresa Patnode Santmann School of Health Sciences, which enrolls over 700 students. The Department of Dental Hygiene offers both the bachelor in science and associate in science degrees. The state-of-the-art Dental Hygiene Care Center provides services to the public using currently accepted dental hygiene procedures to provide optimum care for each patient. All treatment provided at the center is supervised by registered dental hygienists and dentists employed by the State University of New York.
