Wireless Access

In an effort to protect our campus network and student/staff laptops and PCs from the threat of viruses and spyware, Information Technology has taken the following security measures.

In order to access the wireless network, your PC/laptop/mobile device must be registered.

1 ...
On our wireless registration page ( ), students register by choosing
         option #1 and faculty/staff choose option #2.

2 ... For laptops and PCs, the latest Windows Service Pack needs to be installed.
         Campus approved baseline Microsoft Windows Systems:   
                 Windows 8          ---
                 Windows 7           Service Pack 1
                 Windows XP        Service Pack 3

        MAC's and Linux can register without any specific requirements.

3 ... For laptops and PCs, Symantec Endpoint Protection needs to be installed.
         Farmingdale State College offers Symantec Endpoint Protection (ver 12) free of charge to all currently registered
         students.  Students can click here to download Symantec Endpoint Protection .

        Symantec is also required for Staff/Faculty machines.  Call or email the Helpdesk to setup an appointment to have
        Symantec installed.

* Residence Hall students will have to register their devices on both the wired and wireless network.

iPhones, iPods, iPads, Tablets and other compatible smartphones / PDA devices

    Go to and choose option #1 if you’re a student (#2 if you’re faculty/staff).

Gaming Devices

    Go to and choose Option # 4.  Follow the directions carefully.
