Gmail is here.
Farmingdale has moved from the current student email system to Gmail starting Friday, March 22. The implementation of the new Gmail system is being led by Information Technology as part of an overall initiative to enhance the student experience in campus communications.
Gmail will provide students will more storage capability and a modern web interface as well as special applications such as Google docs (faculty and staff will continue to use Outlook as their email platform).
To access your Farmingdale email from any web browser, in the URL type:
gmail.farmingdale.edu
*** First time users MUST reset their password before logging in for the first time.
To reset the password, click on the "Student Password Reset" link on the Gmail login page (circled below). Follow the instructions carefully.
The format for student usernames and email addresses will remain the same.
To access your Webmail go to:
webmail.farmingdale.edu
Importing your Webmail email into Gmail
If you choose to import your Webmail email, please follow the steps carefully in the "How to Import you Webmail into Gmail" handout.
*** Only the mail that is in your INBOX will be imported (no subfolders). If you need the mail in the subfolders, move it back into the INBOX before importing.
