Dental Hygiene Accreditation

The program in dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of "Approval without Reporting Requirements"  The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.  The Commission on Dental Accreditation can be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611-2678.  The Commission's web address is: www.ada.org/coda.

Graduates will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree and are eligible to sit for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) examination for dental hygienists.  Students that graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Farmingdale State College have had a 100% pass rate on both of these exams for the last four years.
