Application Instructions

For your convenience, Farmingdale State College has streamlined the PLUS application process with New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC). The PLUS credit check and the e-Master Promissory Note (MPN) process offer an instant credit decision and the opportunity to e-sign the PLUS MPN immediately following the credit pre-approval.

A parent must follow the steps outlined below to complete the processing of his or her PLUS loan eligibility:

• Visit www.hesc.com


• Click on “Students, Families, Borrowers and Counselors”


• Click “New York Residents” or “Outside of New York”


• Click on “Complete the e-MPN/Apply for Your Loan”


• Scroll down to “Parent PLUS Loan”


• Click on the “GO” button under “Begin the Parent PLUS Loan and/or Credit Check Process”
