Dr. Bahar ZoghiMoghadam

Biography

Bahar Zoghi is an assistant professor in the Department of Architectural and Construction Management Engineering Technology at Farmingdale State College of SUNY since 2008. She currently is the leader of wind energy research project at the Renewable Energy and Sustainable Center.

Bahar completed her PhD at the Graduate Center of City University of New York, her master’s degree from City College of the City University of New York and her bachelor’s degree from Polytechnic University of Tehran in civil engineering. Prior to joining Farmingdale she was a research at International Center for Environmental resources and development at City College of New York. She is a professional engineer with more than nine years of experience in the private sector.

Her research interests lie in the area of sustainable Environment, ranging from renewable energy, green building and water efficiency. She has advanced expertise in green building arena. In addition to being a LEED accredited professional, she holds building and envelope certification from the building Performance Institute.

Bahar is the author of numerous papers, and has served on several workshops and conferences. She has been the advisor of the International Honor Society Epsilon Pi Tau professionals in technology since 2008 and was  the President of the Women in Technology division of The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) for the year 2012-2013. She has received an award of excellence for her service to Women in Technology for ATMAE nationwide.

Her passion is to increase number of females in engineering field; she is a member of the Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) roundtable at Farmingdale State College (FSC) and has been the chair of high school and middle school student presentations and a judge for the STEM Diversity summit for the past three years. She enjoys teaching and doing research, bringing real life problems in the classroom.
