Biography

Hello and welcome to my page! I grew up in Upstate New York, where I spent my days playing soccer and traveling across the country for tournaments. I played in college and professionally in Iceland after I graduated. Over the years, I observed my coaches and wondered what made some more effective leaders than others. I was fascinated by how words and behaviors could motivate some players and completely devastate others. Leadership and motivation still fascinate me, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that I research these topics! Currently, I am interested in dynamic models and systems - I look at how motivation changes within a person over time, and what role leadership, feelings, and personality influence these dynamics.

Research Interests:
Leadership (Outstanding leadership/CIP Model, personalized-socialized leadership, leader-follower distance), Methodology (levels of analysis, measurement issues, dynamic models), and personality, motivation, affect/emotions

Teaching
As a student, I had wonderful professors and mentors who provided me with opportunities and experiences that positively influenced my life. I am grateful to those individuals and want to help my students, too. I love teaching and working on research projects with students. I enjoy meeting them and helping them learn and grow both in their personal and professional lives. My students teach me so much and it is a very rewarding and enriching experience. I have an open-door policy so that I can help my students in any way that I can.

Personal
I like to run and be outdoors. I love traveling, and have been to some amazing places - my favorite place would have to be Soğanlı in Cappadocia, Turkey. Of course, my life is truly special because of my friends and family.
