Paul Cozzolino

Adjunct Associate Professor Email Hale Hall, Room 229

My extensive and unique professional background has helped me tremendously with regard to teaching. As an Illustrator, with over twenty-five years in the field, I have successfully run my own business, working for countless high-profile clients in the publishing world. Some of these include Random House, Simon & Schuster, Penguin Books, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times and Business Week. I am known for tackling a variety of subject matter, including fiction and non-fiction material. I have worked hand in hand with Art Directors who welcome my input with regard to value, color, typography and composition.

I have been accepted into high-profile shows, such as the Society of Illustrators and the McGraw Hill Design Competition. My paintings have appeared on the cover of several best-selling books in the United States and abroad and have also been showcased in the Print Regional Design Annual Visual Commentary page, Art Direction and Newsday Magazine. My animation, titled, Invertebrato was exhibited in The First Beijing International New Arts Exhibition and Symposium. It was also one of the few animations chosen for the “Selected Works” MFA DVD compilation.

An education consisting of an MFA and BFA from the School of Visual Arts, in addition to a BA from Stony Brook University has greatly influenced my artistic expression. As a result of this rich and varied education, I have the ability to use a wide variety of media, such as drawing, painting, sculpting and digital techniques.
