Curriculum Summary

Program Description:
The Ornamental Horticulture Program is career-oriented, designed to prepare horticulturists to work in the extensive green industry on Long Island and the region.

Typical Employment Opportunities:
Retail florist, Landscape maintenance, Proprietor, Private Estate Grower, Retail Garden default Manager, Interior Landscape Designer, Golf Course or Arboretum Technician/Supervisor, Whotesale Distributor/ Sales, Plant Protection Technician, Commercial Arborist/Grower, Plant Propagator

Graduates of Farmindale's horticulture program have distinguished themselves throughout the country in a wide variety of ways. They own businesses, consult, teach at all levels, propagate plants, design interior and exterior landscapes, manage golf courses, estates and garden defaults, and sell plant products.
