Instructions to Candidates

The following is what to do if you wish to participate in the Winter Commencement and have been qualified through the Registrar’s Office through filing an “ Intent to Graduate ” form by Monday, November 12, 2012:

• Make sure you know that the graduation is on Thursday, December 20th (snow date December 21st) at 3:00 PM for the Schools of Arts & Sciences and Engineering Technology, and at 7:00 PM for the Schools of Business and Health Sciences. If you have questions, email:  wintercommencement@farmingdale.edu 
• Visit  or call the Barnes and Noble Bookstore for  purchase of your cap and gown. The bookstore website is: www.farmingdale.bkstore.com. Check the bookstore website for deadlines.
• Arrive for the preceremony instructions and line up at 2 PM for the 3 PM ceremony, or at 6 PM for the 7 PM ceremony.
• Pick up ceremony tickets  on Tuesday or Wednesday December 4 and 5 from 10:30-12:30 and 4-6 or Tuesday or Wednesday, December 11 and 12 from 10:30-12:30 and 4-6 in Gleeson 347. Students must pick up tickets in person.  You must bring student ID and a maximum of five (5) tickets per student.
• The actual ceremony will be in Roosevelt Hall. Arrive promptly at 2 PM for the 3 PM ceremony or 6 PM for the 7 PM ceremony for preceremony instructions and line up. (No guests are allowed at the preceremony instructions or line up.) Report to the Roosevelt Hall Little Theatre. – Students must wear caps and gowns to participate in the ceremony.
