Faculty interested in participation must complete a proposal in accordance with the guidelines in the RFP below. Overall, a high quality proposal must demonstrate how the student research assistant will benefit from work with the faculty member. This means that applying faculty will need to identify learning goals, and the skills the student will learn as they carry out research together. Faculty will also need to identify if their current research will immediately lead to conference presentation and/or publication. The goal of this project is for students to be involved in the research process or the collection and analysis of data, but also to learn how we disseminate and share results. We ultimately hope to see faculty and students co-presenting work at larger conferences, and potentially publishing scholarly work together. At the very least, students should learn about preparing research for publication, and the process by which scholars across a wide range of disciplines contribute to the production of knowledge.
