Entry Level Tester

 Application Security Analyst

Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking an entry level Information Security analyst to join their existing team.  The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years (courses from college count) in desktop, server, network, or application security schooling/work experience.

Institution Research Programmer/Analyst

Job Description:

The role of the Institution Research Programmer/Analyst is to support the Office of Institutional Research by maintaining, updating and resolving errors related to 18 SUNY Institutional Research Information System (SIRIS) data files and ensuring they are submitted to SUNY accurately and on time. In addition, the IR Programmer/Analyst will query large relational databases and write scripts in support of OIR initiatives. The Systems Analyst needs to communicate and collaborate effectively with IR staff, Information Technology Services, and other staff members on campus and at SUNY regarding data issues. Job Responsibilities include:

  • Correct flagged errors on 18 SIRIS data file submissions (ESS Student, EOT Student, Term/Section, Course, Student Revenue, Financial Aid, Degrees Awarded).
  • Consult with SICAS center as needed to correct data errors on SIRIS Submissions.
  • Modify SIRIS programming code to accommodate new data mandates from SUNY or internal changes in curriculum offerings and codes, etc.
  • Coordinate with various departments in the college to resolve Banner issues that are causing errors on SIRIS.
  • Write script to code students who switch from an associates degree to a bachelors degree as transitioners on SIRIS and write other scripts as required to submit data accurately.
  • Coordinate with IT Department to have patches installed on Banner to upgrade programming code.
  • Submit SIRIS data files to System Admin accurately and on time.
  • Respond to any questions from System Admin regarding data submissions.
  • Keep track of changes to SIRIS processes by System Admin and SICAS and respond accordingly.
  • Write data extract programs for use in IR reports.
  • Assist IR Director with projects related to data extraction and manipulation as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or closely related field
  • At least two years related professional experience
  • Experience working with large relational databases
  • Ability to formulate programming code in SQL
  • Experience with PL/SQL
  • Experience in understanding business processes and working with business users
  • Ability to investigate and resolve data errors

  • Perform analysis, design, programming, testing and other application development tasks for new projects and existing applications
  • Design, develop, maintain and support existing Windows Forms and ASP.NET applications as well as both new and existing SQL Server databases
  • Develop and update supporting documentation for both users and technical staff
  • Work with IT Helpdesk providing level II support within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
