The Psychology Club was created to provide an opportunity for students to learn about the profession of psychology and its varied practices. The club helps to advance students’ understanding of psychology’s role in our society and in their own personal lives. For those interested in a career in psychology, the club provides opportunities for increased exposure to the professional roles and responsibilities of psychological professionals and the education necessary for various careers in psychology.
Club membership is open to any Farmingdale student who has a special interest in Psychology and wishes to explore that interest with other FSC students. The Psychology Club is an officially recognized organization of Farmingdale Student Government.
Club activities include:
- Meetings 4-6 times each semester
- Club fundraisers
- Speakers from local graduate programs
- Trips to psychology-related cultural events
- Talks from practicing psychologists
- Attendance at regional professional and undergraduate conferences
In addition, the Club provides financial support for local/regional conference attendance--particularly for students who are presenting their work.
All meetings are held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 10:50 am-12:05 in Gleeson 243. Join us!
