2014 Alumni Awards Dinner

The Farmingdale State College Alumni Awards Dinner is an annual ceremony that honors our alumni and their successes as well as selected Farmingdale State College disciplines.  Also honored are individuals and businesses who have supported and been instrumental in furthering the goals and objectives of the College.

This year Farmingdale's pioneering efforts in renewable energy and sustainability will be highlighted on March 28, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club.  Retired professors Yelleshpur (Harry) Dathatri of the School of Engineering Technology and Dr. Gary Brown of the Ornamental Horticulture and Biology Departments, two long-time faculty members who helped shape the College's focus on the environment, will be honored for their many contributions to the College.

Other honorees include Michael Deering '75, Director of Communications and Clean Energy Program Oversight for the Long Island Power Authority who will receive the Outstanding Alumnus Award; the Long Island Solar Energy Industries Association, Bill Feldmann, Chairman, which is receiving the Outstanding Solar Technology Partner Award; and Solar Liberty, Adam Rizzo, President, and EmPower Solar, David Schieren, CEO, who will be receiving Outstanding Solar Vendor Awards.  For more detailed information on these awardees, please click the 2014 Alumni Dinner Awards info sheet.

Additional honors will be presented to the newest inductees to our Alumni Centurions, our prestigious group of 100 most distinguished alumni of our past 100 years.

The Alumni Association will continue to support the College in its sustainability initiatives by utilizing a portion of the dinner proceeds to further the goals of the College's efforts in solar and green technology.

We invite you to join us as we recognize these special honorees and their contributions to Farmingdale State College and the greater community. If you are unable to attend, please consider sending in a donation to the Alumni Association to assist us in our outreach and programming.  You can also assist the Association by placing an ad in the Dinner Journal or by donating a raffle prize or gift certificate for good or services.  Please contact us if you have a donation or raffle/gift item and click on the Rate Sheet link for journal ad information.

Thank you for your continued support, we hope to see you at the Dinner!
