Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (Fall Semester Only)

Application deadline: January 15 / Supporting Documents Due February 15

All applicants to the nursing program must meet the safety and technical standards and have completed the following prerequisites.


High School Requirements: (85+ Average)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three units of Mathematics (must include Algebra 2 & Trigonometry)
  • Biology with Laboratory (Regents score 75% and above)
  • Chemistry with Laboratory (with passing Regents score)
  • SAT or ACT test scores

Pre-Admissions Exam:

TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills)

Interview:
Applicants with the most competitive exam scores will be selected for an interview, the final round of the selection process. Interviews will be conducted on campus by nursing faculty members shortly after the exam scores are received.


Please note:

  • Completion of the minimum pre-requisite courses does not guarantee admission. Applicants are ranked according to grades. The nursing program is highly selective and competitive. Students who are typically admitted have a minimum grade of"B" in all of the prerequisite courses.
  • Applicants must be eligible for licensure and employment at the time of application.

This program is designed for students directly out of high school or with very few college credits. Please note that it will take four years to complete this program regardless of previous coursework due to the sequence of nursing courses required for graduation. Transfer students are encouraged to apply for the BS of Nursing
Advanced Standing track offered in the spring semester.
