Advanced Standing Bachelor of Science Nursing Track

(Spring Semester Only)
Application deadline: October 1st

All applicants to the nursing program must meet the safety and technical skills and have completed the following courses:

High School Level:

  • Biology with Laboratory (Regents score 75% and above if NY State resident)
  • Chemistry with Laboratory (passing Regents score)
  • Two units of mathematics or Elementary Algebra and either Intermediate Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, or College level algebra (Regents score 70% and above if NY State Resident)

College Level:

  • BIO 170, Human Anatomy & Physiology I – within 5 years
  • BIO 171, Human Anatomy & Physiology II - within 5 years
  • EGL 101, English Composition: Rhetoric
  • PSY 101, Introduction to Psychology
  • 4 Liberal Arts and Sciences curriculum requirements – refer to curriculum information guide on website.

Pre-Admissions Exam:

  • NLN PAX-RN- see last page of handout for additional information.

*Interview*

Applicants with the most competitive NLN PAX-RN scores will be selected for an interview, the final round of the selection process. Interviews will be conducted on campus by nursing faculty members shortly after the NLN exam scores are received.

Applicants must achieve a grade of B or better the first time they take BIO 170 and BIO 171 Human     Anatomy and Physiology I and II. Applicants who have repeated Anatomy and Physiology will not be considered for admission.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE NLN TEST UNLESS YOU ARE PUT ON THE NURSING WAITLIST.
