Welcome to the Department of Automotive Technology at Farmingdale State College!  We offer two degree programs.  The first is the BS in Automotive Management Technology - Industrial Technology which is one of the leading programs in the region.  The second is the AAS in Automotive Technology.  Come visit us today!

Program Objectives

Automotive Management Technology (BS)

• Graduates will have the technical skills, knowledge and ability to enter their chosen Automotive Technology discipline.
• Graduates will have good written and oral communication skills.
• Graduates will develop and be able to maintain the necessary knowledge to operate within all areas of land, sea and air (ground support) vehicles, equipment, facilities, service and operations.

Graduation Rate: 88 %

Placement rate: 80 % of the graduates are placed in directly related jobs and 20 % in indirectly related or unrelated jobs.

Average Starting Salary: $ 41,200

Average time to complete the degree requirements: Seven semester

Automotive Technology (AAS)

• Graduates will have the technical skills, knowledge and ability to enter their chosen Automotive Technology discipline.
• Graduates will have good written and oral communication skills.
• Graduates will develop and be able to maintain the necessary knowledge to operate within all areas of land, sea and air (ground support) vehicles, equipment, facilities, service and operations.

        Average Starting Salary: $ 36,000

Average time to complete the degree requirements: Five semester
