This workshop introduces some techniques that may help instructors manage and make
best use of their time using simple tools within Blackboard Learn. Communications
and time saving techniques will be covered.
Blackboard Grade Center
Participants will learn to set up and customize the Grade Center, create categories,
add grades, calculate extra credits, edit columns, create filters and smart views.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a real-time video conferencing tool which allows instructors
to share whiteboard, files, and software applications and interact with students via
chat, webcam or microphone. Instructors can offer virtual office hours, invite guest
speakers, deliver and record lectures, provide online panel presentations and discussions,
check students’ understanding of the topic by giving polls, and record sessions for
later playback. Participants will be introduced to best practices for providing a
synchronous interactive online learning experience to students.
Creating Media Rich Power Point Presentations
This workshop will introduce instructors to including different media files within
Power Point Presentations to enhance the impact of their presentations. This will
include use of audio and video content. Participants should have basic knowledge of
Power Point applications.
Ensemble is a video streaming system that allows instructors to upload video content
for use in Blackboard Learn. Since Blackboard is not designed to handle video streaming,
Ensemble will allow faculty to have video available for students and offer the capability
to create video “dropboxes” for student video presentations.
First Look at Creating Power Point Presentations
This workshop will introduce instructors to Microsoft Power Point and help them get
started with simple creation and use of the presentation software.
Introduction to Blackboard
This workshop is an introduction to the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS)
and its basic functionalities.
Mobile Apps for Blackboard Learn
This workshop is a complete overview of the Blackboard Mobile Learn app that can be
used on any Apple, Android, Windows and even Blackberry! This app helps instructors
and students move through courses to access rich content and information from their
courses on the go!
In this workshop, participants will learn how to create and edit high quality videos
and screen captures.
Participants will learn how to upload, share and discuss documents, presentations,
images, audio files and videos using VoiceThread.
