The conference will be held in two main buildings, Roosevelt Hall depicted in RED on the campus map and Lupton Hall in GREEN. Parking will be available in Student Lot 9 (BLUE).

The second International Energy and Sustainability Conference will be held in March 2013 at Farmingdale State College. The theme of this year’s conference is "Renewables in Smart Grid Technology for a Sustainable Future". The conference will bring together the latest research and development works in energy and related topics, along with industrial and management issues and challenges. Experts in research as well as in industry will be invited to present the emerging technologies and future directions in their field. Prospective authors are invited to submit original technical papers for presentation at the conference. Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.

Why attend?

IESC 2013 will provide a great opportunity to gain an up-to-date perspective on the state of the Smart Grid, including emerging technologies and how they will affect the industry, policy developments, programs and incentives. It will also include expert opinions from various sectors, including New York State legislators, federal energy related agencies, power authorities, energy and green building related academic and corporate agencies. In addition, the participants will get an opportunity to explore the latest products and systems in the market through interaction with a number of vendors at the conference.

IESC 2013 will create a platform for all working in the field to learn as well as exchange ideas with experts in the field. Participants from different sectors are invited to join this great event, including:

  • Faculty and other academic representatives

  • Home owners who would like to know about saving money on their energy bills
  • Any domestic or international individual or corporation interested in energy related fields
The policy for awarding Professional Development Hours (PDH)

Farmingdale State College is ABET accredited and is thereby recognized by NYSED for the issuance of PDH credit for professional engineers and architects. PDH are equal to the total hours attended for the course. Presenters will be eligible for PDH credit toward presentation times plus preparation time. The ratio is 1 part presentation to 2 parts preparation.

Professionals wishing PDH credit must sign in and sign out for proof of attendance during every scheduled class. Attendees must keep certification letters for six years and would produce the same if asked to do so during a NYSED licensee audit.

When registering be sure that you indicate you are interested in receiving PDH.
