At the Institute for Learning in Retirement, our aim is to develop opportunities for sharing knowledge and skills with others.

An opportunity to enjoy active learning while meeting wonderful new people of similar age and with varied interests.
No long-term commitments; study groups meet for two hours once a week during the day, for either four or eight weeks.
A lecture series – sixteen lectures per year – presented by experts with various backgrounds.
Assorted extras: a Farmingdale State College library card, attendance at College cultural events, an ILR membership newsletter, special events, tours, workshops, socials and an annual breakfast and luncheon.
Affiliations with the Elderhostel Institute Network.
You are invited to join us and learn more about the organizaiton at the Program Presentation and Social, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Roosevelt Hall, room 111 at 10:00 a.m.
We will begin with a welcome to the 23rd year of the Insititute for Learning in Retirement followed by a presentation of the Fall 2014 study groups, lectures, workshops, special events and tours. Study Group leaders will give a brief outline of their course and answer any questions. Registration will be accepted. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
