FAA WRITTEN EXAM FAQs

CATS Testing Center. The cost of the FAA Written is $150 per test. Registered members of AOPA receive a $10 discount on FAA tests. Have your AOPA number ready when registering for a test to receive this discount.

Farmingdale State College students are able to have the cost of the FAA Written debited directly from their Aero Fee account saving them the need to pay for these required tests out of pocket. Students wishing to schedule an Airman Knowledge Test should arrange with their Flight Instructor.

For others who wish to take an Airman Knowledge Test, we accept credit / debit cards only. Sorry, no cash or checks accepted. Registration may be accomplished by calling CATS directly to register at 1-800-947-4228. Alternatively, you may arrange to take a test on a space available basis by contacting the Aviation Center at 631-420-2036 or emailing aviationcenter@farmingdale.edu.
