Jill O’Sullivan is Assistant Professor of the Computer Systems Department at Farmingdale State College. She received her Doctorate in Computing from Pace University in 2011, her MBA in Business Management from Dowling College and her B.S. in Criminal Justice from C.W. Post University.
Dr. O’Sullivan has been the Student Chapter Advisor for the Farmingdale State APICS Student Chapter for more than 5 years. Jill O’Sullivan serves as the President of the APICS NYC/LI Chapter as the Chief executive of this small New York State chartered non-profit professional society responsible for all aspects of the development, marketing, delivery, financial management and administration of a program consistent with the APICS mission and its body of knowledge. www.apicsnyc-li.org
She serves as the Project manager and coordinator for the APICS CPIM Northrop Grumman project which educates and certifies Northrop Grumman employees in the APICS certification in production and inventory control management through Farmingdale State College.
Jill created the ERP Alliance at Farmingdale State College, www.business.farmingdale.edu/erp to promote the students who have been learning ERP through the continued gift of the Info Visual ERP product. The alliance seeks to align these ERP prepared students with industries ERP skills employment needs. The results have been favorable with industry recognizing this need by providing the PM100 Award to Farmingdale State for this class preparation. Jill’s doctoral dissertation was on “VALIDATING ACADEMIC TRAINING VERSUS ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING: AN ANALYSIS IN THE ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP) FIELD”. Her academic research continues in this field.
As an original council member of the Manufacturing Leadership Council, Jill serves on two task forces: The Workforce Development Decision Compass Group and Operational Excellence Compass Group with many national and international manufacturing organizations.
Prior to academia Mrs. O'Sullivan was the Founder and President of JJK Sales, a Manufacturers Rep company that served the Mid Atlantic, New England and New York chapter regions. The company specialized in custom manufacturing, assembly, and electronic component products for a diverse customer base of Industrial/OEM, Distributor/Wholesalers, Value Added Reseller (VAR), Military/Aerospace, Government, and Medical companies ranging from world leaders to large and small L.I. companies. Principles represented included international and national sources. Formerly, a Purchasing Manager and Materials Manager on Long Island, in military, government and commercial companies Mrs. O'Sullivan has acquired more than 24 years of experience in Operations.
Married with two young boys, Prof. O'Sullivan maintains strong ties with the Long Island business communities and continues to bring her business experience to the classroom.
