Psi Chi

Psi Chi
Fall 2013 Induction Ceremony Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology.  Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. The Farmingdale State College chapter of Psi Chi was established in 2011. Psi Chi membership is open to all undergraduate Applied Psychology majors who meet the minimum qualifications.  Students applying for membership:

  • Must be at least a second-semester sophomore
  • Must be enrolled as an Applied Psychology major
  • Must have completed at least 9 hours (3 classes) in psychology
  • Must have an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of their class
  • Must have a psychology GPA that is at least 3.00 on a 4-point scale

Students are inducted into membership in Psi Chi once each semester.  The membership application deadline is November 1st for the fall semester and March 15th for the spring.  Apply for membership.
