The State University of New York at Farmingdale has developed a four-year Bachelor of Science in Professional Communications Program to support the needs of business and industry in the New York metropolitan region.  This four-year course of study is designed to prepare students for careers as researchers, writers, editors, and computer graphics specialists who assist professionals in translating technical, scientific, and professional information into graphic, oral, and written language for specific audiences.

Significant Features of the Program

Practice-Oriented:	Theory and general principles are applied to practical communications problems.
Interdisciplinary:	The framework of the program allows the student to integrate information learned in other courses.
Individualized:	The course of study is tailored to the student's interests and course objectives Classes are small, and students are assured individual attention.

It is expected that our graduates will easily find jobs with starting salaries in the $40,000 - $50,000 range, particularly in the areas of:
