National League for Nursing (NLN) Pre-Admission ExamApplication Information Fact Sheet What are the NLN PAX-RN and the NLN PAX-PN? The NLN PAX-RN and NLN PAX-PN tests are standardized entrance exams for potential nursing students who seek admission into nursing schools nationwide. They are considered reliable predictors of success in nursing programs. The NLN preadmission tests consist of multiple choice questions in three areas: verbal skills, mathematics, and science. The results will be used by Farmingdale State as part of the admission selection process. Please note: Effective 10/29/07 applicants must be eligible for licensure and employment at the time of application. Who must take the NLN PAX-RN or the NLN PAX-PN? Applicants to the nursing programs at Farmingdale State, who have been waitlisted by the Admissions Office at Farmingdale and have been advised to take the NLN preadmission test. When should an applicant take the NLN PAX-PN for the PN Certificate program? We will offer the National League for Nursing Pre-Admission PN Exam for the Practical Nurse-Certificate program on the following dates in Whitman Hall Room 242. We have moved to the computer-based format thus expanding the number of test dates. We can accommodate 25 students per testing session.
When should an applicant take the NLN PAX-RN for the Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree programs? We will offer the National League for Nursing Pre-Admission RN Exam for the Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree programs on the following dates in Whitman Hall Room 242. NLN PAX-RN Performance Report Test scores will be sent to you and to the Admissions Department at Farmingdale State.
