Curriculum

Here at the Children's Center at Farmingdale State University of New York we use the Creative Curriculum for infants through Pre-school. This curriculum encompasses all areas of child development while incorporating all areas of the curriculum, (pre-writing, pre-math, pre-science, early literacy, music & movement). Teachers in the classroom are facilitators and nurturers, providing children with age appropriate activities, encouragement and support. Our Pre-k program provides children with the skills necessary for kindergarten.

Hours of Operation

The center is open 50 weeks a year, closing one week in August (in which you will receive a 1 week vacation credit), and closed one week during the Christmas Holiday. We are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children may enroll for 2, 3 or 5 days. We ask that all children be dropped off at the center before 11:00 a.m.

We are a state licensed facility. All staff has the appropriate qualifications for their positions and attend at least 30 hours of additional professional training every 2 year period.
